Field charts

To understand the Position nodes described in this chapter it's important you know about how Director uses field charts:

• The scene has a 'master' field chart, called the scene field chart. This stays fixed, as a reference.

• Each image you use has its own field chart, on which the image is positioned according to its registration when you scanned or imported it. Whenever a node changes the image's size or position, it changes its field chart in the same way.

Some nodes use the scene field chart, others use the image's field chart, and some use a mix of the two.
